The Akbari Hammam is a royal bathhouse from the time of the emperor Akbar, who rebuilt the Lahore Fort in brick. It was found during the clearing of debris behind Jahangir's Quadrangle and was conserved by the Walled City of Lahore Authority between 2019 and 2021. Three rooms survive, with red sandstone floors, water and steam channels, a hypocaust heating system beneath the floor and chimney openings. The hammam lies in the eastern part of the fort near the Akbari Gate.
