The mosque of Ulmas al-Hajib was completed in 1330 by the amir Sayf al-Din Ulmas, chamberlain and later deputy of Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad. He brought marble from overseas for its decoration, and he is buried in the domed tomb beside the entrance. Its minaret was rebuilt in 1713 after the old one fell, and the mosque reopened in 2010 after restoration. It stands on al-Hilmiya Street, a short walk from the Sultan Hasan Mosque.
