The tombs known as the Seven Domes, al-Sab' Banat, were built around 1010 by the Fatimid caliph al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah for members of the al-Maghribi family and some of his commanders. They were rebuilt in 1181 by a merchant from Syria. Four of the tombs survive, each a square stone base with a brick drum above, though they have lost their domes. They stand in the cemetery south of Fustat.
