Shaykh Usama Abd al-Azim was an Azhari scholar of Islamic law, trained also as an engineer, who became known in Egypt for his asceticism, his devotion in prayer and his teaching of fiqh. His grave is at the foot of al-Muqattam, a short walk from the mosque of Ibn Ata Allah al-Iskandari, and is visited by his students.
