Abdullah ibn Abi Jamra was an Andalusian Maliki scholar of hadith who settled in Cairo and passed away there in 695 AH. He made a short selection of the hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari that is still memorised by students, and wrote its commentary, Bahjat al-Nufus, which is known for its spiritual insight. His tomb stands at the foot of al-Muqattam, opposite the mosque of Ibn Ata Allah al-Iskandari and beside the khalwa of Sayyida Nafisa.
