This funerary complex was built in the 1350s and is identified as the tomb of the mother of Sultan al-Nasir Hasan. Its name, al-Sultaniyya, means the royal. It has two tall stone domes, ribbed and pointed, set on either side of a vaulted hall, a form found nowhere else in Cairo. It stands in the Southern Cemetery near the grave of Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti.
