The zawiya and khanqah of Aydakin al-Bunduqdari were built in 1284 and 1285 by the amir Ala al-Din Aydakin, the crossbow-bearer of Sultan al-Salih Ayyub, from whom Sultan Baybars took the name al-Bunduqdari. It was the first Mamluk khanqah to combine a Sufi house with its founder's tomb, and he was buried under its dome in 1285. It stands on al-Suyufiyya Street beside the palace of Amir Taz, and it is also known as Zawiyat al-Abbar.
