About Al-Atiq Mosque (Shali)

The Old Mosque (al-Jami' al-Atiq) inside Shali is the oldest mosque in Siwa and the Western Desert, said to date from around 500 AH. It is built of karshif in the same style as the town around it and is still used for prayer.
