The Great Mosque of Shaharah stands in the mountain-top town of Shaharah, north of Amran, and holds the grave of Imam al-Qasim ibn Muhammad (d. 1029 AH), who made Shaharah his stronghold. The mosque has white domes over the prayer hall and the imam's grave, and stands near the old cisterns of the town, a short walk from the famous Shaharah Bridge.
