Hanzala ibn Safwan is named by scholars of tafsir as the prophet sent to the people of al-Rass, who are mentioned in the Qur'an. In Sana'a his grave is honoured at the Great Mosque, where a plaque marks it. The grave is part of the Great Mosque complex in the heart of the Old City of Sana'a, and visitors to the mosque come to it.
