This shrine in the desert west of Najaf is honoured as the grave of Sayyida Zakiyya, a daughter of Imam al-Hasan, near the village of al-Rahima. It lies about 33 kilometres from the shrine of Sayyiduna Ali, beyond the low ground of Bahr al-Najaf. Hundreds of visitors come on Fridays, and many families make a day of it in the open country, especially in spring.
