This shrine is honoured as the grave of Sayyid Muhammad al-Abid, a son of Imam Musa al-Kazim, who was known for his worship. His son Ibrahim al-Mujab is buried inside the shrine of Sayyiduna al-Husayn in Karbala, and many sayyid families of Iraq trace their descent through him. This shrine stands among the palm groves about seven kilometres from al-Hindiyya. The road to it is good and there is parking, but facilities are modest.
