The Baghdad Monument is one of the last works of the sculptor Mohammed Ghani Hikmat, one of four sculptures he was commissioned to make for the city in 2010 and which were completed after his passing. It is a tall column carved with verses of poetry in praise of Baghdad, crowned by the figure of a woman in Abbasid dress. It was unveiled in 2013 and later moved to the Allawi area, where it stands near the Iraq Museum.
