Below Jablanica, the river Neretva cuts a deep canyon between the high limestone walls of Čvrsnica and Prenj on its way down to Mostar. The water runs an intense emerald green, and the road and railway between Sarajevo and Mostar follow the river through the gorge. There are several places to pull over for the view, and this stretch is one of the most beautiful drives in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Upstream, around Konjic, the Neretva is well known for rafting in the warmer months.
