The Jawza Mosque is an old mosque of the al-Amara al-Barraniyya quarter outside the northern walls of Damascus, where the al-Uqayba district meets Souq Saruja. The historian Ibn Asakir mentions it as a mosque in al-Uqayba with an imam, an endowment and a fountain at its entrance, and later writers describe it as a Mamluk mosque. A plaque over its door names it, and it is still a working neighbourhood mosque. It lies a short walk from Bab al-Faradis and Bab al-Salam on the north side of the old city.
