Jabal Umm Sinman rises beside the oasis of Jubbah, about 90 km north of Ha'il, where an ancient lake once drew people and animals into the Nafud desert. Its rocks carry thousands of carvings and inscriptions from the Neolithic period to the Thamudic era, showing camels, ibex, hunters and even a horse-drawn chariot. Together with sites near Ha'il, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015 as the Rock Art in the Ha'il Region. Visits start at the visitor centre, where staff guide guests to the carvings, and entry has been free.
