This gateway was built in 1655 to 1656 by Mirza Sultan Beg, a Persian noble at the court of Shah Jahan, as the entrance to his pleasure garden, the Gulabi Bagh or Rose Garden. The garden later became the setting of the tomb of Dai Anga, Shah Jahan's wet nurse. The gateway is famous for its rich tile mosaic and calligraphy set on plaster. Its facade has three bays, with a tall double-storey arch in the centre leading to the entrance and paired arched windows on either side. The tomb of Dai Anga stands inside the garden beyond.
