It provides congregational worship, Islamic learning and community support for local Muslim families, many of them of Bangladeshi heritage. The centre is still listed on Google Maps under its earlier name, Bangladesh Islamic Centre Newtownards; the registered organisation at the same address is now Newtownards Islamic Cultural Centre.
