The Zahawi Café is one of the oldest traditional cafés in Baghdad, on Maydan Square at the start of Rashid Street. It takes its name from the poet and philosopher Jamil Sidqi al-Zahawi (1863–1936), who made it his meeting place, and it became one of the city's literary cafés. It still serves tea, lemon tea and narghile in an old room with arched windows, and it is a short walk from the Haydar-Khana Mosque, Khan al-Mudallal and the Umm Kulthum Café.
