This shrine on the edge of Diwaniyah is honoured as the grave of Sayyid Muhammad ibn Ja'far, known as Abu Shamila, a descendant of Sayyiduna al-Hasan ibn Ali through Abdullah al-Mahd and Musa al-Jawn. It stands on the outskirts of the al-Shafi'iyya subdistrict, on the left of the main road from Diwaniyah to Najaf, and is cared for by the Shia Endowment.
