The Nazir Agha Mosque is one of the Ottoman 'hanging' mosques of Alexandria, its prayer hall raised above street level in the manner of the old mosques of the Delta. It stands in the al-Labban district, near the tomb of al-Turtushi. Its plastered walls and crenellated parapet rise over a decorated gateway, and inside, timber ceilings rest on old columns. It is a short walk from the Abu Ali Mosque and the mosques of the western quarter.
