Nasir al-Din Ahmad ibn al-Munayyir al-Judhami (620–683 AH) was the qadi and khatib of Alexandria and one of the leading Maliki scholars of the Mamluk age. A student of Ibn al-Hajib, he wrote al-Intisaf, a celebrated critique of al-Zamakhshari's commentary on the Qur'an, and his family produced several scholars of the city. He is buried in the mosque that grew from his zawiya in the al-Labban district. The mosque's stone facade with its crenellated parapet and tall minaret is one of the landmarks of the old western quarter.
