Abdullah al-Manufi was a Maliki scholar known for his asceticism and worship, and many imams studied with him. He passed away on 7 Ramadan 748 AH, on a day when the people of Cairo had gone out into the desert to pray for an epidemic to be lifted, and Mazarat Misr records that more than thirty thousand men followed his funeral. His tomb stands in the Mujawirin cemetery in the eastern Qarafa.
