About Jabal al-Qarah

Jabal al-Qarah is a limestone hill about 15 km east of Hofuf, in the heart of the Al-Ahsa Oasis. Erosion has carved it into narrow canyons and twelve caves, the largest able to hold around 500 people, and the caves stay close to 20°C even in the summer heat. Part of the hill has been developed as the Land of Civilizations, with lit paths through the main cave and a stone theatre. Entry to the caves is ticketed, and the slopes outside give views over the palm groves of the oasis.
