Masjid al-Jabri was built in 850 AH (1446) in al-Kut, the oldest quarter of Hofuf, by Saif ibn Zamil al-Jabri of the ruling Jabri family, who endowed palm groves to support it. It is known for its intersecting vaults and many aisles, built of mud and soft limestone, with a cylindrical minaret 11.5 metres high. The mosque has been repaired many times over the centuries, with a plaque above the mihrab recording work in 1091 AH, and it was restored in 2016 under the programme for historic mosques. It holds around 1,600 worshippers and stands about 250 metres from Ibrahim Palace.
