Tamim al-Dari came from Palestine and accepted Islam in 9 AH. He is remembered as the first to light lamps in the mosque of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ and for his devotion in night prayer, and his house stood close to the mosque. The site lies within the grounds of Masjid al-Nabawi, among the houses of the Companions that once surrounded the mosque.
