The Neevin Mosque, the low mosque, was built well below the level of the surrounding streets and is dated to the Lodi period in the fifteenth century, which makes it one of the oldest mosques in Lahore. It is reached by a flight of steps down from the lane. The mosque stands in the Walled City near Lohari Gate. It remains in use as a mosque and is often locked outside prayer times, so it is best visited around a prayer. The lanes nearby are very narrow and are best explored on foot.
