Khwaja Khawand Mahmud, known as Hazrat Ishan, was a Naqshbandi shaykh from the region of Bukhara who taught in Kashmir and later settled in Lahore, where he died in 1642. He founded a mosque and a madrasa in Begumpura, where his tomb was built. The tomb is a Mughal domed building in Begumpura, near the Grand Trunk Road, with painted and tiled decoration inside. It stands close to the tomb of Dai Anga and the Cypress Tomb, and the three can be visited together.
