This is the shrine of Sayyid Abdullah Shah Qadiri, known as Bulleh Shah, the great Punjabi Sufi poet. Born around 1680, he spent most of his life in Kasur and was a disciple of Shah Inayat Qadiri of Lahore. He passed away in Kasur in 1757, and his kafis are sung across Punjab to this day. A shrine was raised over his grave in the decades after his passing and is now a protected monument. Its white domed buildings are engraved with lines of his poetry, and qawwali is performed in the courtyard, above all at his annual urs. It stands on Railway Road in Kasur, about 55 kilometres south of Lahore.
