The Khayzuran cemetery is the old burial ground of Adhamiya beside the mosque of Abu Hanifa. It takes its name from al-Khayzuran, wife of the Abbasid caliph al-Mahdi and mother of Harun al-Rashid, who is reported to be buried there. Many notable Baghdadis are buried here, among them the poet Ma'ruf al-Rusafi.
