Mosul

يقع هذا الموقع التاريخي في حي الشفاء بالموصل القديمة، بالقرب من قلعة باشطابيا وقبالة المزار السابق للإمام يحيى أبي القاسم، وكان في الأصل جزءًا من المدرسة…
Located in the al-Shifāʾ quarter of Old Mosul, near Bash Tapia Castle and opposite the former shrine of Imam Yahya Abu al-Qasim, this historic site originally formed part of al-Madrasah al-Nuriyyah, an important religious school established during the Atabeg period in the late sixth or early seventh century AH. A chamber within the complex later became known as the Mashhad of Imam Muhsin, traditionally associated with Muhsin ibn Sayyiduna ʿAli ibn Abi Talib and Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra (RA). However, no reliable historical evidence confirms that he was buried in Mosul, so the site is best described as a commemorative shrine traditionally attributed to him rather than his authenticated grave. The complex later developed into a functioning mosque, suffered major damage during the conflict in Mosul, and was subsequently restored; medieval marblework and a historic mihrab were rediscovered during the reconstruction.
