The sabil of Umm Abbas was built in 1867 by Banba Qadin, the mother of Abbas Hilmi I, the ruler of Egypt from 1848 to 1854, in his memory. A kuttab above it taught children. Its facade is richly carved and painted, with a wide wooden canopy on top, in a late Ottoman style. It stands where Saliba Street meets al-Suyufiyya and al-Rukbiyya, opposite the bathhouse of Shaykhu and near the Shaykhu complex.
