The Museum of Islamic Ceramics is housed in the palace of Prince Amr Ibrahim, built in the 1920s in Zamalek in a mix of Ottoman and Moorish styles. Its collection covers ceramics from across the Muslim world, from Fatimid lustreware to Iznik tiles. The palace's painted ceilings, marble fountain and tilework make it worth visiting in itself, and the gardens host exhibitions as part of the Gezira Art Centre. It stands beside the Cairo Marriott in Zamalek.
