The khanqah of Sultan al-Nasir Faraj ibn Barquq was built between 1400 and 1411 in the Northern Cemetery to fulfil his father Barquq's wish to be buried there. It housed a community of Sufis and includes the tombs of Barquq, Faraj and members of their family. It is a large square building with two great stone domes over the tombs, two minarets and a courtyard surrounded by the Sufis' cells. It stands a short walk north of the Qaytbay complex.
