The tomb of the amir Tarabay al-Sharifi was built in 1503 to 1504, at the end of the Mamluk period, outside Bab al-Wazir. It included his tomb, a sabil and a kuttab. Its stone dome is carved with a fine pattern, and the building stands among the old graves at Bab al-Wazir, on the road from the Blue Mosque to the Citadel.
