Sayyid Muhammad Abboud was the brother of Ibrahim al-Dasuqi, one of the great awliya of Egypt, whose shrine is in Dasuq in the Delta. Another brother, Abdullah al-Dasuqi, is honoured opposite the mosque of Sayyida Fatima al-Nabawiyya. His small shrine stands in the Abu al-Su'ud quarter of Old Cairo, near the mosque of Abu al-Su'ud al-Jarhi.
