Hasan Qasim was an Egyptian genealogist and historian of the twentieth century who devoted his life to recording the shrines of Cairo and the lineages of the families buried in them. His multi-volume work on Egypt's Islamic shrines remains a key source for the city's mazarat. His grave is in the cemetery east of Imam al-Shafi'i, near the tomb of Muhammad Zahid al-Kawthari.
