Vlašić rises to just over 1,900 metres directly above Travnik. Its wide upland pastures are home to shepherds whose sheep's cheese, Vlašićki sir, is famous across Bosnia. Babanovac, the main resort, offers skiing in winter, and in summer the mountain is a place for walking, cycling and horse riding, with fresh air and wide views. Small restaurants serve local cheese, lamb and pies, and Travnik's old town is less than an hour away by road.
