Prokoško Lake lies at about 1,630 metres on Vranica mountain, above Fojnica, in a bowl carved by glaciers. It is a protected nature monument and one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Bosnia. Around its shore stands a settlement of traditional wooden huts used by shepherds in summer, along with a small mosque. The lake is a starting point for hikes towards the high peaks of Vranica. The final stretch of road is rough, so a suitable car or a walk is needed, and in winter the area is cut off by snow.
