Al-Dar al-Nasiri is the main palace building within the citadel of Zabid, the fortified enclosure on the eastern side of the historic city that was the seat of its rulers for centuries. The thick brick walls and round towers of the citadel enclose the Iskandariyya Mosque and other buildings, and the citadel now houses a museum.
