Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Kurdi al-Zamalkani was born in 1853 in Zamalka in the Ghouta of Damascus. He served his teacher, the Naqshbandi master Shaykh Isa al-Kurdi, with great devotion, travelling with him on the Hajj, and became his successor in the Khalidi Naqshbandi path, leading its gatherings at the tomb of Mawlana Khalid. He guided many students before passing away in 1927, and he was buried in the cemetery of Mawlana Khalid on the slopes of Mount Qasiyun.
