This grave in the Bab al-Saghir cemetery is recorded as that of al-Tantash ibn Abdullah al-Taji, an emir of the Seljuk period in Damascus. It lies in the same area as the graves associated with the Umayyad caliphs Abd al-Malik and al-Walid. Little about his life is recorded in readily available sources, but the grave is one of the older Turkish-era burials in the cemetery.
