Qal'at al-Rusafa is a small mountain castle in the hills west of Hama, near Masyaf. It was one of the fortresses held by the Nizari Isma'ilis in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, forming part of the defensive network around their stronghold at Masyaf. Today the castle is in ruins, with sections of walls and towers on a rocky height. It should not be confused with Rusafa (Sergiopolis) in the desert near Raqqa.
