This shrine is honoured as the grave of Sayyid Ibrahim, a son of Imam Ali al-Hadi, and the small town of Ibrahim ibn Ali west of Baghdad takes its name from it. It stands among farmland about 30 kilometres west of central Baghdad, towards al-Falluja.
