Al-Fadil al-Miqdad al-Suyuri was a distinguished Iraqi Muslim jurist, theologian and scholar of the medieval period. Originally from Suyur near al-Hillah, he later settled in Najaf, where he studied under leading scholars including al-Shahid al-Awwal and became known for his writings on Islamic law, Qur'anic jurisprudence and theology, particularly Kanz al-ʿIrfan fi Fiqh al-Qur'an. He also established a religious school in Najaf and became one of the recognised scholarly figures of his generation. A longstanding shrine in al-Muqdadiyah, Diyala, is traditionally attributed to al-Miqdad al-Suyuri and has become one of the area's recognised religious landmarks and places of ziyarah. It is maintained under Iraq's official shrine administration, and a grave in his name is also honoured in Najaf.
