Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Baghdadi is buried in the khanqah of Baybars al-Jashankir on al-Jamaliyya Street, the oldest khanqah in Cairo to survive. It was built between 1306 and 1310 by the amir who briefly became sultan as Baybars II, to house a community of Sufis in cells around a courtyard. The founder's domed tomb lies behind a window grille set into the facade, and the minaret is capped with green tiles. The Ottoman sabil of Qitas Bey stands next door, and the khanqah of Sa'id al-Su'ada and the House of al-Suhaymi are a short walk away.
