The Koski Mehmed Pasha Masjid was built in the early seventeenth century as the endowment of Koski Mehmed Pasha, and it stands on the east bank of the Neretva just upstream of the Old Bridge. It is a domed mosque with a slender stone minaret, and around its courtyard are a fountain for wudu, an old graveyard and the building of its madrasa. Its riverside terrace gives the classic view of the Old Bridge, and visitors can climb the narrow stairs of the minaret for a view over the whole old town. The mosque was damaged in the war of the 1990s and has since been restored. A small entrance fee is charged for visitors outside prayer times.
