Hammam al-Ward is a historic bathhouse in the Saruja quarter of Damascus, dating from the Mamluk period in the fourteenth century and named after Shaykh Muhammad al-Ward, who lived in the neighbourhood. Its outer hall has stone platforms and a central fountain beneath a fine dome. It follows the traditional plan of cold, warm and hot rooms and is still a working hammam today.
