This site in Damascus marks the former grave of Emir Abdelkader al-Jazairi, the Algerian resistance leader, scholar, and Sufi. He resided in Damascus during his later years and was initially interred here. His remains were subsequently transferred to Algeria. The site preserves the memory of his time in Damascus and his respected contributions.
