About Eid Prayer Site of Abu Bakr (Masjid Abu Bakr al-Siddiq)

This small mosque stands close to Masjid al-Ghamamah, in the old prayer ground where Nabi Muhammad ﷺ prayed the Eid prayers. Tradition holds that Abu Bakr al-Siddiq continued to lead the Eid prayer at this spot during his caliphate, and the mosque was built to mark the place. The building dates from the Ottoman era and has been restored in recent years, with a single dome and a minaret in the local stone. Together with Masjid al-Ghamamah and the mosques of Umar and Sayyiduna Ali, it forms a group of historic mosques that can be seen in one short walk from Masjid al-Nabawi.
